Who are we?
An honest word
We originally wanted to open a completely normal poster shop with MOTIF. We had designs ready for all sorts of things, simply because they were popular at the time. But shortly before we went live, we realized: This feels empty. We didn't want to just throw products into the world that we didn't believe in.
That's why we hit the reset button and deleted everything. We refocused on what truly motivates us: our faith in Jesus Christ. Today, we create modern reminders that fit into a stylish home and are more than just decoration. We want to make a positive contribution and give something of value back to our community.
Handmade from our small design studio
Behind MOTIF today is not a huge corporation, but a small independent studio. We consciously decided against mass-produced goods. Every design you see here was created by us. We spend days refining lines, checking proportions, and fine-tuning colors until an image conveys exactly the feeling we envisioned. It's important to us that the work and thought behind every design are evident.
Diligence, love and care
We put an incredible amount of hard work and care into the details that you might not even notice at first glance. This starts with selecting the right fine art paper and extends to the quality of our FSC-certified solid wood frames. We don't do this simply to sell a product, but because we believe that a reminder of faith deserves a corresponding level of value. Every package that leaves our studio contains a piece of our heart and the joy that we are able to do exactly what we truly feel.
Quality that lasts
Giclée print
Giclée printing is a high-quality art print process using an inkjet printer. The ink is applied to the paper in extremely fine spray layers – hence the name ("gicler" means "to spray" in French). This process allows for exceptionally high levels of detail and color accuracy, and we use it for our art prints.
